Taking People from Spectator to Participator.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodes as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”   -Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

Music is one of the primary forces in our culture today – linked with video, multimedia, and technical excellence, together these elements make up The Gathering’s Worship Arts Ministries.

What is Worship?

Put simply, worship is the giving of honor, adoration, and reverence to God. Worship expresses worthiness and respect. Worship demonstrates our admiration and our love. Worship is a free, open, and complete offering of ourselves. And the object of our worship is the creator of the universe, the author of salvation, the giver of life, the one true God.

Why do we Worship?

We worship the Lord because we were created to worship Him. And we worship Him because He delights in our praises. We worship the Lord because He deserves it. There is none other who is worthy of all our praise. There is no way we could ever repay the debt He paid for us by giving Jesus Christ, His Son. We worship the Lord because the Spirit has put the desire in our hearts. As Christians, there is nothing more fulfilling than offering ourselves to honor our Savior. We worship in order to be filled, refilled, and refreshed by the Spirit of God.

How do we Worship?

We believe that it is impossible to truly worship God on Sunday alone. Since music and singing are only one way we worship God, worship must be a daily commitment to giving our lives to Him. We cannot arrive on Sunday morning and expect to worship fully if we fail to live our lives in worship during the week.

At the Gathering, our worship service is simple. We desire to encounter God. Whether through singing, praying, reading scripture, drama, or through the preaching of the Word, we seek to experience the presence of God and to know Him more and more. We seek to meet individual worshippers where they and bring them to the next level. We offer a contemporary worship service with a blend of songs both old and new, songs that exalt and glorify the Lord.“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalms 19:14 (NIV).

Come join us this Sunday.

We look forward to worshipping with you.
